Band returns 'Home' for first gig of 2012
Today, the band played their first 'gig' of the year at the opening of the Long Shop Museum in Leiston. We always enjoy this engagement as it takes us back to our roots.
Training Band Master gets recognition
Tony Cooper, Chairman of Leiston-cum-Sizewell Town Council presented the 'Chairman's Cup' to Philip Glennon our Training Band Master on Monday 26th March 2012 in recognition of all the good work he does for the young (and old) members of the band.
The Chairman's cup was introduces 3 years ago by the then Chairman, Ann Nunn, as she felt the Council, on behalf of the Town, should be able to give recognition to the many residents who deserve it for the unstinting way they serve the town in a voluntary capacity and make all our lives a bit better .
Well done Philip!

Caption competition
Approximately 2 or 3 times per year the band publishes a printed newsletter called 'Brass Notes'. The Spring 2012 newsletter has just been published and a copy is available on the Band Website. Included in the newsletter is a caption competition for the following photograph which was taken at the annual Band Barbecue
Roger has got a bottle of his homemade wine for the person that comes up with the best caption for this picture so get your thinking caps on and entries should be given to Paul in the bandroom or emailed to chairman@leistonband.co.uk as quick as you can! Closing date 31st March 2012. The winning caption will be printed in the next newsletter!
2011 Official portrait
2011 was our 125th anniversary of being a brass band. At the time we had a new formal picture taken, but never got around to putting it on the band website so here it is...
Can you spot anyone who may have been a member of the original band?
